Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba professionally known as Mohbad was a Nigerian singer and rapper from Lagos state. He was born on 8th June 1996 and died on the 12th September 2023.
Mohbad was formerly signed to Naira Marley‘s “Marlian Records” and left the label in 2022.
He was best known for his hit singles, Ponmo, Feel Good, and KPK (Ko Por Ke) with Rexxie which was nominated 3 times for The Headies awards in 2022.
MohBad was nominated 5 times for The Beatz Awards in 2021. Mohbad was also listed in Audiomack’s top 21 afrobeat artists of 2021. In 2022, he released Peace produced by Rexxie. He also peaked TurnTable charts top 50 in 2021 and top 100 in 2022.
Mohbad released his first EP, Light, in 2019 after agreeing to a record deal with Marlian Records World. The eight songs on the EP features Davido, Naira Marley, and Lil Kesh.
As a rapper, Mohbad has been embroiled in a lot of controversy.
In February 2022, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) arrested Mohbad, Zinoleesky and four other people following their possession of illegal substances like Molly and cannabis at their Lekki home in Lagos.
After leaving Marlian Records, Mohbad accused Naira Marley of domestic violence saying that his boss ordered people to beat him up.
This happened after he confronted Marley on his decision to hire a new manager for him.
