A Kenyan man identified as Brian Nwenda has been arrested for allegedly being a fake lawyer despite winning 26 cases in court.
A Kenyan man identified as Brian Mwenda, has been arrested for practicing law without the requisite certificate despite winning 26 legal cases in various Kenyan courts.
Brian’s fraudulent legal activities came to light after an investigation was initiated by the Law Society of Kenya Nairobi Branch Rapid Action Team (RAT) after they receive several public complaints.
Despite being a fake lawyer, Brian has appeared before the High Court, Magistrates, and Court of Appeal and has successfully secured victories in all 26 cases he appeared.
Upon his arrest, the Law Society of Kenya Nairobi Branch was quick to confirm that Brian Mwenda is has never been authorized to practice law in Kenya.
The Statement released by the LSK Nairobi Branch read In part;
“It has been brought to the attention of the LSK Nairobi Branch through the Rapid Action Team (RAT) that the man has been presenting and conducting himself as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a member of LSK Nairobi Branch.”
