Kano tricyclist identified as Awalu Salisu who returned a missing N15 million has been offered a N250 million scholarship up to PhD level.
Awwalu Salisu, the 23-year-old commercial tricyclist (keke rider) from Kano who returned missing N15M , has been offered a N250 million scholarship up to the PhD level.
Recall that in 2023, a Chadian businessman forgot his N15 million in his tricycle and the money was returned by Salisu.
Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate, was the first to give Awwalu scholarships at the PhD level at Baze University in Abuja.
Following this, the Niger State Governor Mohammed Umar Bago announced that Awwalu will get a N250 million scholarship in recognition of his act of integrity and to inspire other young Nigerians to emulate the virtue.
He stated that Awwalu will receive a N50 million scholarship each from him, President Bola Tinubu, his ministers, the APC Governors Forum, and the administration of Niger State.
Bago continued by saying he would give the Kano Keke rider’s name to one of the road projects he was working on in Niger State.
