A Nigerian man who works at a JAMB CBT Centre has been arrested for allegedly stealing the phone number of a 15-year-old girl and misusing it.
This came to light when the mother of the girl raised the alarm on social media after her 15-year-old daughter received unsolicited messages from the accused staff member.
The accused, who was entrusted with the responsibility of overseeing the JAMB registration process, reportedly used the opportunity to steal the contact details of the 15-year-old candidate.
The mother who had used her own phone number to register her daughter for the examination, was shocked when she noticed that a staff member from the examination center had been engaging in inappropriate communication with her daughter.
Tye woman pointed out that the staff member continued the conversation despite being reminded of the candidate’s age.
In response to the public outcry and the gravity of the allegations, the authorities swiftly took action and the staff was arrested alongside his accomplice.
