Nigerian comedian and human rights activists, Mr. Macaroni tackles President Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Femi Hakeem Gbajabiamila for saying that social media iss a menace that should be regulated.
Comedian and human rights Activist, Adebowale David Adedayo, popularly known as Mr Macaroni has slammed President Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila for saying that Social media is a menace and should be regulated.
Femi Hakeem Gbajabiamila, had in a book launch in Lagos on Thursday, 8th Febuary, stated that social media has become a societal menace and must be regulated.
In his words; “Social media has become a societal menace and must be regulated. As many people do not understand that once the send button is hit, there is a potential to reach millions of people around the world which is capable of causing a great danger not just in the society but even unintended consequences to the individuals that are receiving information which may include security of life.”
While some Nigerians supported Femi Gbajabiamila, his statement did not sit well with many youths including Mr Macaroni who shared screenshots of old tweets of Gbajabiamila back in 2014 criticizing previous governments on social media.
Mr Macaroni questioned Gbajabiamila saying; “Social Media wasn’t a menace when Mr Gbajabiamila used it to address the Government as Vagabonds and Barbarians in 2014. Today he is Chief of Staff and he suddenly realizes that Social media is a menace…. HYPOCRITICAL VAGABONDS IN POWER AND BARBARIANS AT THE GATE!!!!.”
