“Being a Nigerian is difficult ” — Tems shares

Nigerian songstress, Tems speaks on the difficulty faced by Nigerians and how it is very hard to be a citizen of Nigeria.

Temilade Openiyi, better known as Tems has shared how it is very difficult to be a Nigerian. She said one if the hard phase in anyone’s life is to be a citizen of Nigeria.

Tems made this known while speaking about her child hold and her experience in navigating her complex hometown while speaking on the horrible reality that many Nigerians face.

She added that Nigerians are resilient and have developed a thick skin for this hardship and no matter the hurdles they will cross it. She said this is one of the benefits of being a Nigerian.

She also called being a woman of Nigerian descent “a miracle.”

She said;

Being a Nigerian woman is a miracle. Because being a Nigerian, for anybody, is tough. But I think if you can tap into your gifts and own who you are be unapologetic about it, and take that to the world, that is an honor.

“I think Nigerian women are the most blessed. I won’t say the most blessed but everybody is blessed in an equal manner but Nigerian women are very special to me. They are very dear to me and I believe that it is such a huge blessing to be a Nigerian woman and to be living in this time.”
